Mariah Carey says she’s not residing in isolation after seeking treatment for a bipolar disorder.
In an Individuals magazine article due on newsstands Friday, the singer states she didn’t think it when she was very first identified after she was hospitalized for a physical and psychological breakdown in 2001.

The 48-year-old states she lived in rejection and seclusion and feared somebody would expose her.
Carey remains in therapy and taking medication for bipolar II, which includes durations of depression, hypomania and irritability.
Carey says the medication is not making her feel too exhausted or slow.
“I got back to doing exactly what I love– writing songs and making music,” she states.
